How to use light deprivation greenhouse to grow industrial hemp?

Growing industrial hemp can be a lucrative business, but it requires the right conditions for optimal growth and yield. One effective way to create these conditions is through the use of a light deprivation greenhouse. In this article, we will discuss how to use it to grow industrial hemp.

There are some steps you can follow.

Step 1: Choose the Right Location

When choosing a location for your light deprivation greenhouse, look for a spot that receives ample sunlight and has good drainage. Avoid areas that are prone to flooding or have poor soil quality.

Step 2: Choose the Right Size

Choose a greenhouse that is large enough to accommodate your crop. Industrial hemp plants can grow up to 15 feet tall, so make sure your greenhouse has enough vertical space to accommodate their height. Chengfei Light Deprivation Series Greenhouse has many specifications for your reference. Step 3: Install the Blackout Material

The blackout material is what makes a light deprivation greenhouse effective. Cover the entire greenhouse with an opaque material, such as a black tarp or shade cloth, to block out all light. The material should be thick enough to prevent any light from penetrating through it. We usually design 3 layers of shading cloth to make sure there has a 100% dark environment in the greenhouse.

Step 4: Control the Light Cycle

Once the blackout material is installed, you can begin manipulating the light cycle to control the flowering of your plants. To induce flowering, cover the plants for 12-14 hours a day and expose them to light for the remaining 10-12 hours. You can use a timer to automate the process and ensure consistency.

Step 5: Monitor the Temperature and Humidity

It's important to monitor the temperature and humidity levels inside the greenhouse. Industrial hemp plants prefer temperatures between 60-80°F and humidity levels between 50-60%. Use a thermometer and a hygrometer to monitor these levels and adjust them as needed.

Step 6: Water and Fertilize

Water your plants regularly and fertilize them with a nutrient-rich fertilizer. Industrial hemp plants have high nutrient requirements, so make sure you provide them with enough nutrients to support their growth.

From Step 4 to Step 6, we can connect an intelligent control system to monitor, collect, analyze, and adjust relevant parameters. It is more convenient to manage a whole hemp greenhouse.

Step 7: Harvest

Once your plants have reached maturity, it's time to harvest them. Cut the plants down and hang them upside down to dry. Once they are dry, you can process them into various industrial hemp products, such as CBD oil or fiber.
